In lock step with the number of new cases is the number of deaths attributed to coronavirus. Insights about the number of new deaths may assist in the determination of the overall efficacy of the response taken by the government or society to manage the spread of the virus. The months of April and May saw an encouraging decrease in the daily new mortality levels only to be interrupted by a remarkable positive trend beginning in the latter part of June and highlighted by 2,378 single day new death level on June 27, 2020.
