A Timeline of a Modern-Day Pandemic By Joel Dazo

The United States has a substantial share of the global coronavirus cases (by Aug. 1 - 4.7M cases or 26% of global cases) and deaths (157K deaths or 23%.of global deaths). The map above breaks down the distribution of coronavirus cases in the U.S. at the county level as of July 26, 2020. It is quite apparent that coronavirus cases tend to be prevalent in high-traffic areas as well as areas which are considered major travel destinations such as California, Texas, Florida and the rest of the northeast, southwest, and southeast U.S. regions.
